Q. I’m confused regarding the digital picture frames discussed in previous questions.. I’m not sure where my type of screen fits in.. I have a picture frame that is connected to a specific email address that only my children have. They send a picture from their email to my picture frame email and it gets displayed on the screen. They are obviously not sending my pictures on Shabbos .. The pictures change in random sequences as they get displayed.. Is it permitted to leave on during Shabbos?
A. Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is that if one keeps it on constantly, does not usually change the settings or pictures manually and it does not play any sounds, it is permitted to keep it on during Shabbos.
(Care should be taken, since some manufacturers recommend to turn off their product daily to avoid overheating).
