When one attends a Kiddush on Shabbos morning after davening and they serve pastries and small cakes, should one be observant in “Lechem Mishne” and make a brocho (Mezonos) on two together, as one would do with Chalos?

Kitzur Shulchan Aruch (77: 17) rules one should keep Lechem Mishne even on small cakes. However other Poskim disagree. (Orchos Chaim 289: 5 – Da’as Torah ibid. – K’tzeih Hamatteh 625: 75, and others). Piskei Teshuvo (274: 8) quotes that the minhag of RS”Z Auerbach zt”l was to keep Lechem Mishne. Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is similar and he mentioned that he follows this minhag.
