Q. Is it proper for someone that has the option of taking his vacations during another time of year, to take them now during the week of Christmas and New Year?
A. Some Poskim address this shaila, and maintain that if there is an option, it is better to take them at another time (Nitei Gavriel H. Chanuka).
Horav Shlomo Miller’s Shlit’a opinion is similar especially when someone may be paid overtime when continuing working at this time.
